Are you covered for high-risk winter
activities?
With the winter months playing host to a range of
high-risk equestrian activities, such as hunting,
point-to-pointing and team chasing, leading UK equestrian
insurance provider Petplan Equine reminds riders to
check that these activities are covered under their
current insurance policy.
The majority of insurance companies offer at least
two groups of cover which relate to the activities
a rider does with their horse. However Petplan Equine
offers seven different levels of cover, for example
a leisure rider will have a lower level of cover than
a seasoned eventer. This means Petplan Equine policy
holders only pay for the cover that they actually
need.
As the activities begin to change it is important
that horse owners check with their insurance company
that they have the right level of cover and that vet
fees and personal accidents are included. Once an
insurance policy has been taken out it is possible
to upgrade it if the level of activity changes.
Having the right level of cover is very important
and will ensure you won’t take any financial
knocks if you or your horse is involved in an accident.
