When most people think
of Rockies, they think of salt and trace
element licks, but now, Rockies’
new Magnacalm brings something a little
bit different to equine market.
Magnacalm is a new product
which combines purified Cheshire salt
with a palatable, bioavailable form of
Magnesium and Cerelose Dextrose to create
a sweet taste and ensure consistent intakes…even
with horses who are not keen on salt.
“Magnacalm is our latest product,”
says Jeremy Sample from Rockies, “
and its name is derived from its Magnesium
content (Magna…) and the evidence
of its calming effect on horses and ponies
(Calm). An awful lot of work has gone
into this product and we’ve worked
with the research team at a leading UK
university associated equine college faculty
to create something that is palatable,
effective, taken in a free access manner
and on a daily basis due to the horse’s
inability to store Magnesium for future
use.”
Magnacalm has undergone rigorous field
tests in commercial yards with very positive
results. Magnesium deficiency has been
linked to hypertension, which can contribute
to nervous and behavioural problems.
Magnacalm is available as 1.8 kg licks
from all Rockies’ stockists and
retails at £4.99.
