Kan Teq Body Protectors Team Up with Spinal Research

Kan Teq, Great Britain’s leading equestrian body protector has announced its support for Spinal Research, the UK’s principle charity funding medical research around the world to develop reliable treatments for paralysis caused by a broken back or neck.

Wendy McCaughan, designer of the Kan Body Protector has been involved in high risk body protection for over 15 year. This was first with bullet proof vests. Kan Teq teamed up with Knox to produce this revolutionary body protector. Knox, world leaders in the manufacturer of sport protection garments have designed a unique foam panel protection system which is strong and light. The Kan Body Protector is leading the way the revolution for equestrian body protectors, using moulded foam and utilising hi-tech fabrics such as the hydrophilic “smart fabric” lining which absorbs moisture whilst remaining dry to the touch.

Wendy said:

“To be involved with Spinal Research and its Saddle Up campaign, which is specifically for horse riders who love what they do but understand the risks involved, was an obvious choice. The commitment to research and raising the morale of many people who have been injured in high risk sporting activity is phenomenal. We will be raising awareness of the charity by assisting in fundraising activities and will also make our own annual donation. We at Kan Teq are proud to be associated with Spinal Research”

Dr Mark Bacon of the charity said “At Spinal Research we are dedicated to reversing paralysis. But prevention is always better than cure! Accidents do happen, but whatever your chosen activity you should always ensure you are well protected by using the best safety equipment conforming to British and European Safety Standards.”

Saddle Up Ambassador Jeanette Brakewell has already seen the benefits of wearing the Kan Body protector and has now joined Team Kan which includes other international event riders such as Izzy Taylor, Polly Jackson, Lottie Prentice, and Nicola Wilson.

The Kan Body Protector’s foam panels have an outer skin containing thousands of tiny air pockets designed to absorb the impact of fall whilst riding. The foam panels are semi rigid; firm enough to hold their shape, whilst remaining soft and flexible to offer a high degree of comfort, additionally the shoulder pieces safeguard all vulnerable areas. The unique body formed moulding system ensures snug fit which hugs the waist, chest, and back. It conforms to all current safety standards and is the most technologically advance body protection on the market. The Kan Teq team are looking forward to working with Spinal Research to promote awareness and funds for this important charity
