Equisorb. A new generation bedding from Melcourt Industries Ltd

Melcourt Equisorb, the new generation bedding from Melcourt Industries Ltd has rapidly gained popularity since its launch in 2003.

What's the secret? Why does Melcourt Equisorb work so well? The answer is absorbency. Compared with shavings, hemp and other wood based products Melcourt Equisorb holds the wet in a much smaller area and absorbs more liquid per volume unit of bedding.Melcourt Equisorb bales are easy to carry, mucking out time is reduced, there are fewer trips to the muckheap, thus a more effective management system.

Melcourt Equisorb rots down really quickly, much faster than shavings or even long straw and makes superb manure so can quickly be spread on farmland or gardens. Should it be necessary to pay for commercial removal the reduced amount of waste would be reflected in the cost.

Melcourt Equisorb comes from a sustainable natural source, and provides lower dust levels, less odour and reduced waste material so is kinder to the world, your horse and yourself.

Normally less than one bale of Melcourt Equisorb per week is required - but how can you use less than one bale of bedding a week? With Melcourt Equisorb it really is possible! The secret is in the management. Once the bed is laid you disturb it as little as possible, just take the droppings off the top. The wet will be confined to a small area and you only need to remove this when damp appears on the surface. Once or twice a week, dig out the wet patch, fill in from the edges and top up with clean bedding around the sides. Simple!

Melcourt Equisorb costs as little as £3.25 a week per stable (around £6.50 to £7.00 per bale) so once the bed is laid, managed correctly, using Melcourt Equisorb can really save you money as well as saving you a lot of effort.
