No shavings? No problem with Nedz Advance!

With bedding in short supply this year many horse owners are looking for substitutes to conventional types. Nedz now offer three bedding alternatives to shavings with Nedz Original and Nedz Pro having established themselves over the past five years. Due to current weather conditions and a reduction in the amount of top quality raw material available Nedz have launched a revolutionary new product which is taking the market by storm.

Nedz Advance is a new concept in equine bedding offering a super absorbent, easy-to-muck-out and highly biodegradable chopped straw alternative to shavings and other bedding products. The raw material is chopped in to small fibres, steamed and treated to discourage eating, then compressed in to a pellet. The pellets break down at different rates as your horse moves on them, increasing in volume over several days and ultimately providing a sturdy, comfortable base which is capable of absorbing up to five times its own weight in liquid. Muck doesn’t stick to the bedding and wet patches are so minimal that waste will be significantly reduced meaning your muck heap will shrink in size and the muck that is there will rot down within one month.

Angela Corner has four horses and competes successfully in endurance. She has used the bedding for 6 months and has not looked back. “The pellets quickly break down to form a thick base and the manure doesn't mix in with clean bedding, making it easy to muck out. One worry I had at first was as it comes in pellet form my horse would confuse it with feed and start eating it. He did have a mouthful at the beginning but since then hasn't touched it. Nedz Advance has saved me time and money – it is so absorbent you only get a small wet patch! Now I can concentrate on the fun stuff like riding!”

In an average 12ft x 12ft stable six to eight bags of Nedz Advance will be needed to set up the initial bed, the muck and wet patches should then be removed daily, but the bed should not be turned over, and water should not be added. Depending on usage a new bag will be required around once a week.

Nedz Advance is available in easy to store 15kg bags, with a RRP of £6 to £7.50
