The original Grand Flex was the first glucosamine-based
product on the market in the United States, and the
formula has never changed. In addition, Grand Meadows
was one of the first companies to earn America’s official
National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) seal; your
horse is in safe hands!
Glucosamine helps keep joints and cartilage lubricated,
as well as stimulating substances necessary for the
formation of joint tissue, glycosaminoglycans; absorption
and efficacy studies have shown glucosamine to be
highly effective when administered orally to horses.
However, Grand Meadows believes that feeding glucosamine
alone is like eating a sandwich with just bread; a
number of extra ingredients, or ‘co-factors’ are also
required in credible amounts. “The key to a formulation
in which the co-factors efficiently add to the effectiveness
of glucosamine is the quality and level of the other
ingredients,” states Simon Haythornthwaite of sole
UK distributor, Horse Specialities. “Furthermore,
the company stands behind their reputation of integrity
and ethics, so if it’s not proven to be good for your
horse, it won’t be on the Grand Meadows label.”
It may not be necessary to use MEGA Grand Flex on
a long-term basis, and the manufacturer recommends
following up with one of their other potent joint
formulas, Grand HA, Grand HA Synergy or Grand Flex
for long-term maintenance and joint support.
