Pro and Equistat® Lite
the only devices world-wide to accurately and instantly
measure body mass, fluid volume body fat, hydration
status and cellular health in a horse.

The Equistat range of devices use a technology called
Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA), a proven science
used on humans to assess their body Composition for
over three decades. These innovative devices are set
to revolutionise equestrian health and competitive
performance.
The devices work by attaching an electrode strap to
the horse’s left forearm and left hock. A small
electrical signal is transmitted through the horse,
the resistance to the flow of the signal is assessed,
and the parameters are then calculated.
FACT: By having an accurate prediction
of body mass you can provide more precise care for
your horse, giving the correct type and amount of
feed, medication and fluid. However, prior to Equistat®
this had to be done by calculations using a tape measure
or prohibitively expensive scales.
FACT: If a horse is not correctly
hydrated it will not perform to its full potential.
By using Equistat® to monitor the weight and in
conjunction with the total fluid volume, this can
be used to assess the hydration status of your horse.

There are two Equistat® devices the Pro and the
Lite. The Equistat® Lite is ideal
for the private user; a safe non-invasive diagnostic
tool, which is easy to use, lightweight and portable
(battery operated). Once the test is complete, the
results are available in seconds. The device stores
up to 100 tests on the unit and it is straightforward
to recall previous tests that you have completed.
The screen will show you the ranges that are recommended
for you horse and where you horse falls within these
ranges.
The Equistat® Pro has been designed
with professionals in mind. In addition to the body
fat, impedance values, total fluid volume and body
mass readings of the Lite, the Pro also gives the
Extra / Intra-cellular Fluid Volumes, Dehydration
Index, Plasma volume and Phase Angle, all of which
are critical to the professional veterinarian practitioner,
trainer or stable.
The Equistat® Pro has all the
features of the Equistat® Lite,
but in addition there is also a comprehensive Software
program, which Bluetooth’s the measured results
directly to your computer. This invaluable software
enables you to monitor the health of an infinite number
of horses over any given time period, allowing you
to study the effectiveness of feeds and different
interventions on the health and performance of your
stable. Additionally, there is a thermal Bluetooth
printer available for instant printouts.
